Flexible Travel for Military Families
5-Star Resort Escapes Donated by Club Wyndham Partners
The Standard Vacations for Vets Program is designed for military families who value flexibility and expanded destination options. Through this option, eligible applicants can request donated resort stays from more than 600 resort locations, made possible by generous resort owners partnering with IHOOT.
Availability in the Standard Program depends on donated inventory and resort owner approval. While dates and locations are not guaranteed, this option is ideal for families who are flexible with travel plans and open to discovering a wider range of donated resort experiences.

- Accommodations are donated by resort owners and subject to availability and owner approval
- Dates and locations are not guaranteed; confirmation timelines may vary
- Ideal for applicants with flexible travel plans
- Only one vacation per family is allowed within 365 days from return and receipt of Testimony and Photos
- Applicants may select one destination and up to three preferred dates per application
- A minimum 16-week window between application and check-in is required
- Response Timing: Updates are based on your requested travel dates, not when you apply. Resorts typically respond 2–3 months before travel.
- Lodging only; travel-related services are not included
- Only Active Duty Military, Veterans, and Unmarried WIDOWS, and their families are eligible
- Application fees are non-refundable and cover application matching and coordination
- Service animals are permitted at Club Wyndham, WorldMark, and Shell Vacations locations

FAQs about the
Vacation for Vets Program
Does IHOOT own resorts or operate as a travel agency?
No. IHOOT is a 501c3 nonprofit charity. It’s a means for eligible applicants to request free lodging through the www.ihoot.org portal. V4V ensures that requests are compliant with Resort and IHOOT Guidelines and Terms & Conditions and forwards them to the Resort Reps. The Team can’t determine availability in advance nor do they control availability and/or approvals.
How does IHOOT determine who receives a donated stay?
Applications are reviewed in order of submission and evaluated based on:
• Eligibility
• Completeness of documentation
• Compliance with Guidelines and Terms & Conditions
Rank, status, branch of service, and disability rating are not considered in the selection process.
What makes Vacations for Vets unique?
Stays are donated by resort and timeshare owners supporting IHOOT’s mission: “Helping Active-Duty Military and Veterans reconnect with their families.”
Are stays completely free?
Accommodations are fully free. Applicants are responsible for travel-related services such as transportation, food & beverage, resort fees, taxes, etc.
Application fees pay upfront for work in progress, therefore are non-refundable.
Is the application fee refundable?
No.
Application fees pay administrative expenses upfront; therefore are non-refundable.
Can I change my dates or location after submitting my application?
Only the Standard Program allows date or location changes; Holiday Inn Programs and Special Promotions cannot be changed once submitted. If canceled, fees are forfeited
• Changes are only allowed before a reservation is confirmed.
• Your position in the queue may be adjusted.
